The Cleveland Comets are the North East's most prominent recreational ice hockey team. Born in 1984 out of a small group of avid Billingham Bombers fans, the team has gone from strength to strength due to the team members genuine love of the sport. The Comets play out of the Billingham Forum and train on Sunday and Monday nights from 10.00pm 'til 11.30pm. Over the many years since it was formed, the team has toured Canada and the Czech Republic playing the cream of recreational hockey ( and some ex NHL'ers! ) and could recently boast the accolade of having three members play in the 'Old Timers World Championship' in the Czech Republic.
